Cores are one of the Resources in Frostpunk 2. They are used for advanced buildings that can be developed from the 
Idea Tree. Typically an advanced building takes 25 cores.
Cores are too advanced to be reliably manufactured, although it is possible this will change later in the game. Search the 
Frostland to find more to add to your stockpile.

Backstory[edit | edit source]
Steam Cores were a similar mechanic in the first Frostpunk. While they could also be used in advanced buildings, they also had a role in making Automatons. It is unclear if this carried forward to modern Automatons in Frostpunk 2.
